On 17th December,2012 Sri Sarada Math-Rasik Bhita ushered into a new era of learning with the inauguration of its new project, ‘VIVEK-JAGRITI’- education through video-conferencing mainly for the students of rural area free of cost as part of the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Swami Vivekananda. This project was inaugurated by Rev. Pravrajika Amalaprana Mataji, General Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission and Dr. TGK Murty, former director of ISRO, at 10.30 a.m. at Sri Sarada Math-Rasik Bhita.

After inauguration of the soundproof room specially modified for this purpose, Dr.Murty formally launched the VIVEK JAGRITI project by connecting to 4 centres viz. RKSM Gangarampur, RKSM Baladbandh, RKSM Sister Nivedita Girls’ school and Vivekananda Computer centre in Kumrogori village near Singur.

Later addressing an audience consisting of many distinguished guests and students, Rev. Amalaprana Mataji thanked the Sheela Kanoria Foundation for providing full financial assistance to this project and emphasised the real need of education i.e. awakening of the conscience or ‘Vivek Jagriti’. Dr. Murty in his speech reminded everyone the glory of Holy Mother which made this project materialise. Dr. Aloke Bhattacharya, Former General Manager, CMC Limited spoke eloquently telling everyone how video conferencing became popular.

Later in an interactive video conferencing session, Spoken English was taught from the host centre i.e. Rasik Bhita to the students of Vivekananda Computer centre and RKSM Gangarampur. Initially this project will reach out to 8 rural centres and hopes to benefit more and more village students by reaching out to many more in future.
