On 13th August, 2015 the annual prize distribution celebration of Rasik Bhita was held at Mohit Maitra Mancha, Paikpara, Kolkata.
Chanting of SankalpaSuktam followed by VandeMataram by the students of Rasik Bhita marked the beginning of the programme.
The opening song was then sung by Ms. Sreemoyee Ganguly, a student of the institute.
After the welcome address, Chief Guest Dr. Ajoy Kumar Roy, Director, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (Formerly BESU, Shibpur) and Most Revered Amalaprana Mataji, General Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission were welcomed to the stage.
The audio-visual annual report of Rask Bhita for the year 2014-15 was presented to the audience. The report documented the events and programmes at the institute throughout the year. The presentation was well appreciated by the audience.
Most Revered Amalaprana Mataji then released the annual magazine of the institute, ‘Rasik Bhita Barta’. This year the theme or Barta of the magazine is “Jatiyata” or nationalism.
Dr. Ajoy Kumar Roy then addressed the students in a thought provoking speech which was very much appreciated by one and all. Most Revered Amalaprana Mataji in her speech highlighted the fact that women have always been the pillars of culture, tradition and values in society and if each girl understands this responsibility, then the society can easily be transformed.
This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony which has always been an inherent part of the Annual Day celebration of Rasik Bhita. Mataji and Dr. Roy by turns gave away the prizes to the students for their excellence in performance in various categories.
The cultural program of the evening was a play on the life of revolutionary freedom fighter Kanailal Dutta whom the present generation has nearly forgotten. It was by the devoted efforts of our well-wishers that Kanailal Dutta’s relatives could be invited to the function. Most Revered Mataji felicitated his brother’s grandson rendering a special touch to the whole evening.
The next session was the cultural programme. The evening witnessed the most awaited event of the day, a sincere effort where the students and teachers worked hand-in-hand; “Na Hanyate Hanyamane Sharire’, a play based on the life of the young revolutionary and martyr, Kanailal Dutta.
The students have delivered their best leaving the hall packed with audience, in wonder and happiness. The play was received and acknowledged with much applause and everybody present was inspired and was filled with awe thinking that such noble and fearless souls like young Kanai had taken birth in our country.
