Sri Sarada Math – Rasik Bhita conducted an awareness programme on assistive technology and independent living at Calcutta Blind School, Behala on 9 September 2026. Around 35 students from Classes IX to XII participated in the programme.
The students were introduced to a range of assistive devices and their practical applications in education and everyday life. The Talking Thermometer, in particular, sparked considerable excitement, with students eagerly trying it out, asking questions and sharing their own experiences.
The lively participation of the students made the session both interactive and enriching. The programme also highlighted how appropriate technology can help visually impaired students perform everyday tasks with greater confidence and independence.
Through such awareness initiatives, Sri Sarada Math – Rasik Bhita seeks to help visually impaired students discover the possibilities before them and move towards greater confidence, self-reliance and independence.
