A Communicative English Workshop was organised at Rasik Bhita, Dumdum Park, on 11 September 2026, with 36 students from six girls’ schools, accompanied by their teachers. The participating schools were:
- Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Sangha Balika Vidyalaya
- Laketown Government Sponsored Girls’ High School
- Bangur Avenue High School for Girls
- Krishnapur Adarsha Vidyamandir for Girls
- Dumdum Sri Aurobindo Balika Vidyamandir
- Baghbazar Multipurpose Girls’ School
The programme commenced with a keynote address on “The Changing Global Landscape: Empowering Learners through English and Technology,” followed by a screening of “Rasik Bhita through the Lens.” The address highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s message for students, the Institute’s spiritual heritage, and its efforts towards empowering young women through skill-based education and economic independence.
The students participated enthusiastically in a series of interactive activities, including the ‘Mystery Box Challenge’, ‘In Her Shoes’, ‘Unlocking Words’, based on homonyms and homophones, and ‘Unlocking Worlds’, conducted by the teachers of Rasik Bhita. The session concluded with prizes being awarded to the winning team and runners-up, followed by a group song, “If You Miss the Train…”. All participants received certificates along with a copy of Aamader Swamiji, a bookmark and a pen. The programme concluded with lunch at around 1:15 p.m. The participating teachers expressed their appreciation and hope for more such enriching and interactive sessions in the future.
