Visit To Enable India, Bengaluru
Post confirmation of collaboration of Sri Sarada Math Rasik Bhita with Enable India, representatives from Sri Sarada Math Rasik Bhita visited Enable India office in Bengaluru on 27th June 2024 to gain first-hand knowledge about the training process and discuss the next steps for the nascent project.
Launching Of Pilot Project
Project 'VIVEK DRISHTI' - employablity training for visually impaired girls, in association with Enable India, Bengaluru and mjunction services Ltd. was officially launched on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at Sri Sarada Math Rasik Bhita – 490 Dumdum Park, Kolkata - 55 premises.
Overview Of The Training Program:
Courses Offered:
1. Orientation to Computers | Duration: 15 days
2. Computer Fundamentals | Duration: 2 months
3. Foundation Course in Computers | Duration: 6 months
Timing : Daily from Wednesday to Monday, 10 am to 5 pm. (Tuesday Off)
Location: 490, Dumdum Park (Jessore Road), Kolkata-55
(Extended premises of Sri Sarada Math-Rasik Bhita)
Training Fee: Nil
(Accommodation has been arranged for students from remote areas.)
The use of Assistive Technology for training the visually impaired needs a simple and affordable smartphone. Enable India, Bengaluru (NGO), our Knowledge Partner, is providing expertise in the use of this ‘technology enabled training programme’ for the visually impaired. CSR Support for the pilot project is being given by mjunction Services Pvt. Ltd.
Certification Of First Batch Of 9 Students
The training of the first batch of 9 students was completed in June 2025. Among them, six students with a B.A. degree completed the six-month Foundation Course, while three students who had passed Class X/XII completed the two-month Fundamental Course.
Mr. Shreyas Desai, General Manager, Tata Sons, handed over the certificates to the students during the closing ceremony. Three of the certified students got job after training, while the others are pursuing higher studies.
Subsequent Batches
As of June 2026, three additional batches have been conducted, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 25. In addition to the regular training programme, two awareness workshops were organized—one at the 490 Dumdum Park premises and another at a school for visually impaired students run by Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission, Suryapur, North 24 Parganas. The workshops aimed to raise awareness among visually impaired girls and their families about the transformative role of assistive devices in easing daily tasks and improving mobility, thereby helping them lead independent and dignified lives.
Construction of a building with necessary facilities on a parcel of land opposite to the main premises of Rasik Bhita, Dakshineswar. It is a proposed 4 storeyed building with
I. Spacious classrooms and labs well equipped with necessary infrastructure to provide training with modern assistive technology.
ii. Space for physical fitness training.
iii. A reading room cum library along with spacious seminar hall.
To scale up the pilot project, a parcel of land measuring approx 5 Kathas opposite to the main premises of Rasik Bhita at Dakshineswar, Kolkata has been purchased. A 4-storied building has been planned with appropriate infrastructure on this plot for the training of the visually impaired girls in an inclusive environment.
The estimated cost for the construction of the building is given below.
1. Cost of construction of a 4-storied building
with the provision of one additional floor = Rs. 3.75 Crores
2. Cost of Furniture & other infrastructure = Rs. 0.75 Crores
TOTAL- Rs. 4.50 Crores
a) All visually impaired girls within the age-range of 18-30 years from Kolkata and suburbs across all sections of the society, can avail this skill development training programme.
b) At present, every year, approximately 1500 girl students receive training from Rasik Bhita and the number is steadily increasing. This large pool of students will also have the opportunity of learning in an inclusive training environment.

This project will provide lifeline to the visually challenged girls – their dream of getting acknowledged by the society and getting financial freedom would be achieved.
Any kind of donation, full or partial, will be thankfully accepted. All donations to Sri Sarada Math are exempted from Income Tax u/s 80G of the I.T. Act, 1961.
