As part of the year-long Silver Jubilee celebrations of Sri Sarada Math, Rasik Bhita, a public meeting was held on 4th January at Mahajati Sadan. The event brought together distinguished academicians, professionals, cultural personalities, making it a memorable and enriching occasion.

The programme began with Vedic chanting by the students of Rasik Bhita, creating a serene and auspicious atmosphere. This was followed by a welcome address by Pravrajika Nityamuktaprana Mataji, Centre-in-Charge, Sri Sarada Math, Rasik Bhita. An inaugural song by Gargi Samadar, faculty member of Communicative English at Rasik Bhita, added a graceful cultural touch to the opening session. The programme was conducted in three well-structured sessions.

First Session: Addresses by Distinguished Guests

The first session featured three insightful speeches. The occasion was graced by the presence of Revered Pravrajika Atandraprana Mataji, General Secretary of Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission. The audience was also honoured by Prof. Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay, Padma Shri awardee, Former Director of the Indian Statistical Institute, and recipient of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, and Prof. Ajay Kumar Ray, Padma Shri awardee, Director of JIS Institute of Advanced Studies and Research, and former Director of IIEST, Shibpur. The distinguished speakers addressed the gathering and shared their valuable insights on education, women empowerment, values, and social development.

This session also witnessed the release of a seven-minute documentary film portraying the 25-year journey of Sri Sarada Math, Rasik Bhita. The film highlighted the institution’s dedicated efforts toward the education, empowerment, and holistic development of young women, along with its various initiatives for overall personality development of the students.

Second Session: Panel Discussion

The second session featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on “How Effectively Can Skill-Based Education Be Blended with Academics?” The panel comprised:

  • Pravrajika Asheshaprana Mataji, Sannyasini, Sri Sarada Math

  • Pravrajika Vedarupaprana Mataji, Principal, Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Vivekananda Vidyabhavan College

  • Prof. Joy Sen, Professor, Department of Architecture and Regional Planning, IIT Kharagpur

  • Sri Chandril Bhattacharya, noted orator, author, and lyricist

  • Smt. Sreemayee Chakrabarty, Assistant General Manager, Tata Consultancy Services

The session was ably moderated by Prof. Sumita Roy, retired Professor, Department of English, Osmania University. The discussion offered diverse perspectives and expert opinions, providing the audience with valuable insights and new directions in the field of education.

Third Session: Cultural Programme

The third and concluding session was cultural in nature and concluded with solo musical performance by renowned artiste Smt. Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, bringing the evening to an inspiring close.
